On island or off? - Mackinac Island Forum - TripAdvisor
If we stay off island, we could spring for a nicer dinner on the island maybe. We'll peruse the shops downtown and then will likely get a carriage tour to the inland areas (we prefer natural beauty). Right now I'm leaning toward off island, with nice dinner.

RE: London Pass vs. Hop on Hop Off Bus - London Forum
"wich is better for saving money and see more of the citty, Hop off hop on & Oyster card for transportation back and for everywhere? or the London pass with Travel?..thanks." Neither. HoHo bus is a quick way to get an overview of the city, but more expensive than taking regular transport and getting around yourself.
Hop-On/Off Bus tours vs Subway Metro pass - New York City
True that: "I think you forgot one of the biggest cons of a tour bus: sitting in traffic." If we do not take the HOHO buses, we do anticipate taking 13 or more rides in 3.5 days we are in the city, so weekly pass would be the way to go.

My friends and I are going to be in London for 4 days (August 21-24, tues-fri) and the only thing we have pre-ordered tickets for are the London Eye and Harry Potter tour. We're debating if it's worth having the Hop On Hop Off bus for a day or 2 for an unlimited rides or get an oyster card instead.

Cable Cars or Hop On Hop Off Bus - San Francisco Forum
The tour busses make it easy to see just tourist spots without planning much at all, often with commentary. However the hours of operation are more limited than Muni and the bus frequencies with the hop-on hop-off can be less frequent, too. Some reviews state that sometimes buses can be full and you'll be unable to get on the next bus at times.

Miller Ferry or Jet Express - Sandusky Forum - TripAdvisor
Miller's Ferry is less expensive and you can take your car over. They drop you off away from downtown and if you don't have your car, you can catch a cab (fairly cheap) or rent a bike or a golf cart.If you take your car, you have to line up fairly early for the return trip. The ride is not as comfortable as the Jet Express is, in my opinion..
