Onsite (PBH/HRH) or off (Hyatt House, Home2 Suites)? | The
If you won't rent a car if you stay on-site, but will off-site, add in car rental and parking fees to the off-site pricing so that you are comparing 'all in' prices. Either way, staying at PBH/HRH will probably still be more expensive, but the convenience, EP and Early Entry might make it worth it to you.
On or Off Site Night Before Disney Cruise | Page 2 | The
Stay off property and then leisurely drive to the port via a one-way car rental. That said, what kind of cruise? If it's a 7 night, I'm not as rushed to get on-board right at 12, a 1:30 arrival, going direct to your stateroom to drop off your bags and then get lunch. If it's a short cruise, you might want to maximize every minute on board the
Off or onsite for family of 6 teens/tweens- what do you
We do not plan to let our kids go off on their own. We might split with one parent taking one or two, but all kids will have a parent with them. We looked at Fort Wilderness last time. I love the area, but those cabins are just too small and the bunk beds in the same room as the master bed are a deal breaker.
Microwaves? | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums - DISboards.com
Do any resorts have microwaves anymore? Besides the villas? On or off property okay, as long as off prop has some kind of transportation to the parks. Many times we bring back leftovers but they get thrown out because there is no way to heat them up!
On or Off site? | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums
I really believe at off times like for afternoon breaks it does take longer with the Disney transportation. Also, if you want to leave after fireworks it can get very backed up and you usually wait longer at that time, too.
When booking a rental car, does pick up time matter? | The
As others have said pick-up and drop-off times do matter. The only times that I've found that they don't "care" about the drop-off time is if you're returning the car while the office is closed. For example, I rented a car from the Dolphin and selected 1:00 am as the return time.
On or Off Site Night Before Disney Cruise | The DIS Disney
Got up embarkation morning, took a shower, had a leisurely breakfast at the food court and a nice, relaxing (I slept most of the way) ride to the ship was just the best. The caveat is that we did arrive fairly late, but there was still food on the buffet and plenty of time to eat, drop off our bags, and get to the Sail-Away party.
Black Friday - and we're off! Updated 11/16 | Page 6 | The
I've spent hours looking for discounted gift cards for Best Buy and click through rebates but am not having too much luck with even 5% off. There is 10% off at one of the GC sellers but you have to use bitcoin and I don't understand how to do that and don't know the risk either.
Keurigdo you leave yours on 24/7? | The DIS Disney
This is a good point. I actually had to clean out the water holder this past weekend because there was a nice green film along the inside of the container I have it set to automatically turn on 15 minutes before I get up and to automatically go off about an hour later.
Onsite or off? | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums
My main thing for this trip is the least stress, and I think transportation might be stressful. If we stayed off site, I'd rent a car. So - are EPs necessary at the end of Jan/beg of Feb? Is club level worth it for pickyish/food allergy kids? How bad is the walk from the parking garage to the parks?
More Off-Site ECV Rental Questions | The DIS Disney
We‘ve done both off-site and in-park rentals. Due to some new, and some old but worsening medical problems, I will need to rent us each an ECV this time. I want to rent from off-site so we will have them the entire time and I’m okay with having to meet in the lobby for drop off and pick up.
Do you leave your front porch light on all night? | The
I have noticed that several of the houses on my street seem to leave the front porch light on all night. We never do unless we forget to turn it off. We have motion lights at the corners of the house so if anyone walks up those lights click on automatically. Just curious - why would you want your front porch light on all night?
Vero Beach 2-bedroom lock-off | The DIS Disney Discussion
The 5 of us (me, DH, DS6, DS3, DS2) are planning our first trip to DVB June 4-8. My brother and his wife may join us, so I am planning to get a 2 bedroom lock-off. If I found out later that they won't be able to join us, will it be difficult to change that reservation to a 1 bedroom? Also, does the 2B lock-off have a chance of having an ocean view?
Do you take passport off ship for excursions | The DIS
we take our passport off shore with us b/c if you miss the boat for any reason you will have to have this. Plus i worry about getting in any type of unusal situations with out my passport in a foreign country which would not be good. We have to have a passport to travel abroad for a reason and leaving it in the safe on the ship is not that reason.
Question about Prednisone and no tapering? | The DIS
My son is severe asthmatic. Anytime he has taken prednisone for more than 5 days it is tapered. 5 days never. I guess there is a magic cut off for how many days you take it. It has been awhile since he has had to take any, possibly 2 years so I don't remember the exact dosage.
Help - ok to use diesel in a heating oil furnace? | The
There is a BIG difference between Home heating oil what they call #2 and kerosene. Kerosene works in all instances but #2 does not. Not a big deference between Kerosine and diesel fuel mostly just diesel has no die in it and is taxed for on road use but there is some because if you have a large number of diesel burning equipment they do sell an off road diesel.
Kidani 2 bedroom- lock off vs dedicated | The DIS Disney
Agreed. We just stayed at a 2 bedroom lock off unit. We stayed in the lock off section as there were only 3 of us. It was great to have our own entrance and kitchenette. Our friends have 4 kids, so for them having 2 full baths was a plus. We also loved that we had our own bathroom.
Resort vs. Off site hotel | The DIS Disney Discussion
An off-site hotel can mean a significantly cheaper stay, or a longer stay for the same price, or a much more luxurious room for the same price. On-site can mean being in the parks when there are low crowds, being in the Disney bubble, and easy transport to/from the parks.
On Site or Off Site Hotel? | The DIS Disney Discussion
The biggest drawback off site is there don't seem to be any great pools in the area so I think I'd look at staying a little further away - maybe the Sea World area where we can get a great pool. We don't usually rent a car so then I am adding the cost of an Uber or Lyft. Is it worth it? Or more of a hassle? Have you stayed on site and off?
Spin-Off of Skyliner Thread: Have You Ever Been Stranded
The second-longest that required a walk-off was on Pirate's (WDW) a few years ago. A horrible storm came through the area and knocked out power to part of the park. We had no clue that there was even a storm going on, but our boat stopped just before the drop. They were able to evacuate other boats more easily and had people in waders pushing
Off or onsite for family of 6 teens/tweens- what do you
We stay off site check out skyauction We pay 700 for a two bedroom at Sheraton vistana for a week, it has the king in one room, two doubles in the other and the sofa bed in the living room. you can get an air mattress for one of them. We have our two younger ones share.
Disney+ Streaming Offer | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums
Today I received the Visa card member offer for the Disney+ service. It offered $20 off a 2 yr membership or $40 off a 3 year. I think you pay for it all upfront but I wasn't sure. Either way, it seemed like a good deal so I'm quite certain we will do it. However, there was no mention at all of Hulu or ESPN streaming.
1st timer - on or off site ? | The DIS Disney Discussion
i would suggest staying on siteespecially because it is their first time to Walt disney World. Staying off site may save them a little bit of money on the accommodation, but they will need to spend additional money on renting a car or two (in order to fit 8 - 10 people).
Everthing you wanted to know about Uber/Lyft at WDW | The
The ride is based on the drivers gps in their phone, so once you are picked up, you can turn off your web access. At Universal, youll want to communicate with the driver either via text or phone before turning off the web. That way youve gotten their info and they can locate you easily.

How to stay "off site"!? | The DIS Disney Discussion
Lyft is our preferred transportation method whether we are staying on or off property. It is faster and usually has more convenient pick-up/drop-off locations than the buses. At $6-$12 between parks and $20-$40 for airport runs, a small fraction of our total trip costs eliminates a lot of frustration.
No car. Is the price difference worth it? | The DIS Disney
Our first trip we stayed off site and Uber-ed the whole time. I figured on $25-30 per day plus airport transport as the cost, but we didn't do mid-day breaks. That adds to the cost quite a bit. For a 6 day stay, that we assume offsite has to be about $250 cheaper (and have a hot tub) to make sense.
Christmas Gifts for Assistants? | The DIS Disney
It is the thought that counts, right?!?! Thirty six people is alot to buy for. I would love the gift card or the scratch off. Probably the gift card more cause I would have the $5, and I would lose on scratch off with my luck. My daughter got $5 from her retail store manager to Wawa and she was thrilled. She never thought why isn't this more money.

Off-site vs On-site | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums
don't really like mousekeeping - so staying on or off site will generally go with timeshares because no housekeeping. Both are fine - stay onsite a few days a year - have generally one or two night stays - have DVC or this would be impossible (some of Disney stays require at least 3 or 4 days) - also live fairly close - 35 to 63 miles - so an hour to two hours drive.
Disney gift card 10% off | The DIS Disney Discussion
There's no fee. That difference is because they are not actually taking ten percent of the cost, but rather taking the regular 5% off first, then taking the second 5% off the the new, lower cost, making it slightly less than 10%. So if you buy a $50 card, first they take off 5% to make it cost $47.50.
How long does it take to get from parking to park entrances?
The time between parking at the TTC and arriving at the MK can vary depending on how long you have to wait for the ferry or monorail. Or bus. Before opening it is my experience that the monorail hasn't been running and CM's were directing guests either to the left for the ferry or off to the right to a bus.
Which on property hotel? | The DIS Disney Discussion
I prefer the GCH and proximity has a lot to do with it. We walk so much there (25,000 + steps per day), that walking that little bit further to DLH felt like an eternity at the end of the day. GCH is easy to pop back to the room for something, a break, 5pm pin trading (a big deal for our DDs), a swim, dry off after GRR, drop off jackets, whatever.
Fireworks viewing from offsite hotels? | The DIS Disney
You could stay anywhere and head off for the evening to see the fireworks from a Disney resort. We park at Disney Sprungs and take the bus to any of the deluxe hotels near magic kingdom. We grab a bite from the Polynesian (dole whip at the Pineapple Lanai is a must for us) and watch the fireworks from the dock at the Grand Floridian.
Tip bellman twice? Storing luggage for 2 hours | The
I found another site, tipping.org, that is apparently written by a bellman. He says you tip anytime a bellman touches your bag, but I'm not sure how serious this site is because he also says he'll go through your bag if you don't tip him when you drop it off and you should also tip him for smiling at you.
Which Day For Off Day? | The DIS Disney Discussion Forums
Hi! So we are going to be visiting Disneyland Fri Feb 14 - Mon Feb 17th. We're going to get 3 day tickets and plan for one off day. Which day do you think would be best to take off from the parks - Saturday or Sunday?
Talking myself out of DVChelp | The DIS Disney
So, yes, I think the new management has the mentality that dvc has not been squeezed enough and that there is much more money to be made off of existing and future members. As I said I do not think it is a bad deal, but I do not think it is a deal.
Taking Uber or Lyft to Disneyland? | The DIS Disney
Depends on where you are coming from. When staying Homewood Suites, I had Uber drop me off at Captain Kidd's and just crossed the street. Otherwise they'd have to go all the way to up to Manchester and back down Harbor and that would add a dollar to your fare and time away from the park.
Remove or Leave on Polish? | The DIS Disney Discussion
I always leave mine on. I was overdue for a pedicure awhile back (noticeable growth of my toenails and a huge gap of no polish). I didn;t have time to get in to get one, so I tried one night to remove the polish myself. That stuff is cemented on, so I waited until I had the time to get one and let them use acetone to get the polish off.
When to turn off utilities? | The DIS Disney Discussion
Shut them off at the end of the week like you planned, do NOT listen to your realtor. I did this when I sold a home years ago, and at the advice of the realtor gave them "the courtesy" to change the utilities over and let me tell you, they must have been having a rock concert or something with the amount of electricity they used in the one week since they moved in!
Requesting Day's Off -DCP | The DIS Disney Discussion
You're supposed to do a bunch of stuff and experience new things in and outside of disney world. With that being said I don't see any problem with calling off because you bought concert tickets months earlier and request the day off the day you buy the tickets and you don't get the day off, especially if you can be easily replaced.
Where do Uber and Lyft drop off at Disneyland? | The DIS
The east end of the pedestrian entrance is where I would assume--there is a drop off area there, I know. They used to have a few short-term parking spots as well, for people waiting to pick others up, but I think that was ended years ago.
How high up do seats go on Soarin? | The DIS Disney
I have a HUGE fear of heights. The first time I rode it, I was panic stricken the entire time that I was in line. Sweaty palms, fast heart beat. You knowthe whole kit and kaboddle. Anyway, the worst part for me was the initial "take off" when you go off the ground.

We do a lot of giveaways at the party to include items as well as over 100 gift cards. It is a buffet style dinner, cocktails, and a few awards given away as well.
